Useful Tips

Some tips and tricks you might find helpful.

Very dense and therefore durable. The wood is moderately difficult to work with and due to interlocked grains and toughness has a blunting effect on tools. It is unsuitable for nailing and glueing results are variable. Very durable and immune from insect or fungal attack after installation.

With hardwood decking the trend is to initially oil the deck and then leave to weather naturally (silvery grey). If preferred one can lightly sand the deck and reseal every once in awhile.
